Hugh qualified in the Incorporated Society of Valuers & Auctioneers in 1987, becoming an active member of the Society. In 2000 Hugh completed a further two years of Study at the College of Estate Management (now University College), passing a diploma in Arbitration and becoming a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 2001. Hugh began his London property career as a commercial agent at William Willett in Sloane Square before moving to LSH. He then moved to J Trevor & Son, further developing his experience in valuations and lease advisory. A move to Cluttons saw a change in focus to property management and leasehold reform before leaving to head up the professional department at Smith Melzack in 1998. In 2002 Hugh joined Colliers CRE as an Associate Director in the Out of Town Retail Department, undertaking rent reviews on retail warehouses and drive-through restaurants across the UK. In 2005 he joined Stiles Harold Williams as Director and Head of the London Professional Department, focusing on a broad range of valuations for all High Street Banks. At Capital Chartered, Hugh uses his experience of various markets across London to provide effective Chartered Surveying services covering most types of asset classes, with specific emphasis on valuations for Probate, Single Joint Expert (SJE) valuations for dispute and family (Divorce) purposes as well as market rent valuations on schools, dentists, retail and industrial property.
